Foam Aluminium Panels: Cutting Without Crushing the Structure

Foam aluminium is chosen for lightweight stiffness, damping, and energy absorption, but its cellular structure changes how cutting should be approached. A reliable cutting process protects pore structure, edge integrity, and workplace cleanliness.

What makes foam aluminium different on the saw

Unlike solid plate, foam aluminium can be locally crushed by clamping or uneven support. The cell walls can tear if tool engagement is aggressive or if the panel is allowed to vibrate near the cut line.
