Aluminium Plate Service Centers: Cutting for Mixed Orders and Fast Changeover

Aluminium service centers live on responsiveness: many order lines, many dimensions, short lead times. The cutting area must switch quickly between jobs while keeping dimensions and squareness reliable enough for customers’ downstream machining and fabrication.

Order diversity is the main load on the cutting department

Service centers routinely handle multiple alloys and tempers, mixed thicknesses, and a wide range of blank sizes in a single shift. Chip evacuation matters operationally: chips trapped under the plate can create false positioning and scratch surfaces during transfer.
Because job sizes vary, the cutting system must behave predictably across thickness changes without long retuning cycles.
